Juneteenth Celebration

  • East McMillan Street Cincinnati, OH United States (map)

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.

On Saturday, June 15th, Cincinnati Young Black Professionals, Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Southwest Ohio, and Dayton Young Black Professionals will kickoff the summer and Juneteenth with festivities at Five Points Alley!

Food? Check. Cards and games? Check. Music? Of course; who do you think we are?! We will also have a pop up shop by Everyday Black with some dope merchandise for sale.
